Cusco and Machu Picchu hotel is ideal to visit the old peak

Overview
At the same time become acclimatized, we took a gentler walking around the unforgettable places in Cusco, starts at the Plaza de Armas. I'm afraid our amble took on all the characteristics of a road March that made us proud, but exhausted. However, we see the Sacsayhuaman fortress and Tambomachay "Virgin Baths" during our short stay in Cusco. There are a wide range of really good hotels in Cusco and whether you can afford to spend a lot or just a little, it is a hotel that suits you. In fact, we found that all Cusco and Machu Picchu Hotels we came across was superb, both in its treatment of guests and in the standard of accommodation on offer.

Dizzying height
Splurging at the beginning of our holiday, we had booked to La Casona-mainly to enjoy the wealth that we would normally never have experienced in our wildest dreams. All of the hotels in Cusco and Machu Picchu, this is certainly the most rich. Apart from the fact that the very first boutique hotel opens in Cusco, its other claim to fame is its total privacy in the middle of a busy city. La Casona, one of the Inkaterras hotel, has only 11 suites to receive guests. However, it is worth the cost because you really need to get used very thin quality of the air which can leave you gasping for breath, and makes you dizzy if you do too much too quickly.

Peace and quiet
When we came to the village of Aguas Calientas, only a 15-minute drive from Machu Picchu, we booked our hotels who held a further surprise to us. It was among 12 acres, complete with waterfalls, trickling streams, flotillas of butterflies. This is the Cusco and Machu Picchu hotel is the best! Apart from Machu Picchu itself, which is unforgettable, staying at the hotel, there are lots of other things to do. The hotel is located alongside the River Vilaconota and you can only wish to enjoy the sights, smells and sounds of the gorgeous garden around you while eating a gourmet dinner in the hotel restaurant.

There are plenty of other Cusco and Machu Picchu Hotels standards, both in Cusco itself in Agua Calientas. In fact, there is also a hotel up Machu Picchu site. Personally, I would choose to stay at Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel, during its 12 acres of peace and quiet in what is generally fairly strenuous holiday.

Machu Picchu-take the challenge and travel at your own

Machu Picchu has become a very popular destination in recent years. Perhaps you know this site was declared as a new 7 Wonders of the World this year. About eight hundred thousand tourists have visited Machu Picchu this year. And it is expected that approximately one million travelers will visit this fantastic city in 2008.

It really is a great place to visit. However, you can visit on your own? Or did you take the help of tour operators? Lots of people asked me this question. I will try to answer that question in this article.

Well, some of you need to travel agencies, some of you don't. If you plan to visit Machu Picchu, Aguas Calientes, Peru live in (I wrote about Aguas Calientes, Peru in detail below), one or two nights, you do not have a tour operators. But if you're planning to hike the Inca trail, you will need a tour operator. Under the new law, only licensed tour operators can work in the Inca trail. There are exceptions for those who want to go independently, but they have to wear their own equipment, luggage, food and tents, so it is not practical to go to hike the Inca trail and tour operators. If you plan to visit Machu Picchu in one day and want to come back the same day, and you have children, then you also need to employ the services of tour operators.

So if you aren't in a hurry (and don't come to hike the Inca trail), then you don't need all the tour operators. You can save money and spend it any other way. It is also as a challenge, learn new things and make them work. You will like it. Just get ideas from the Web site, noting the important information and start.

Peru Travel Guide-enjoy Machu Picchu Tours

Define the memory of most Peru Vacations is the moment when it arrives at the lookout point is called the watchman Hut, the starting point for all Machu Picchu tours, where the world famous citadel staggering beauty finally revealed in its glorious setting, hidden in the clouds atop a jungle-clad mountains.

Is by far the most convenient way to visit Machu Picchu, a supplier of Peru vacation packages, but for the most adventurous and people with a decent grasp of Spanish, it is possible to find your own way and track down a guide on the day.

Since its re-discovery in 1911 by Hiram Bingham, is an American explorer at Yale University, Machu Picchu has become the stuff of legends. an iconic image in the minds of millions, with all its character of adventure, exploration and mythical history.

Surprising about the reality of Machu Picchu is much more down to Earth. Recent archaeological studies have suggested that the site was not a center of spiritual and religious significance, which was adopted in the past.

In fact, proposes some archaeologists now that Machu Picchu was originally conceived as a centre of learning, a type of Inca University or even better, a grand and very elaborate vacation spot for the kingdoms nobility.

It is not disputed that Machu Picchu is one of the best preserved, most exciting and jaw-droppingly beautiful archaeological sites-in South America and throughout the world.

Part of the citadel ALLURE has always been its disposal law, lies deep within Peru's Sacred Valley, surrounded by mountains and valleys unforgiving Hutter, complete with dense subtropical forests and gushing rivers.

Access to the site these days are thankfully, much easier, not least because line trains were extended until the modern town of Aguas Calientes, Peru at the mountain base. It is now possible to arrive by train, Aguas Calientes, Peru spend the night in this busy, tourism oriented city and catch an early morning bus up to the citadel is the following day.

Most visitors are interested in to get to Machu Picchu as early as possible, and although the first bus ($ 14 return) departing at around 5: 30 am, the strongest is in the queue from as early as 3 pm.

Taking things seriously, this is probably only worthwhile if you plan to climb Mountain Machu Picchu, Huayna Picchu sister on the same day: the entrance is limited to 400 people per day, and tickets are selling very early. Otherwise, aims to be in the queue from around 5 pm and you will still be able to make an early bus and catch the citadel before most of the masses arrive.

Before it arrives at the ticket office you will find a number of guides ($ 15-20 for 2.5 hours), most of which tend to be very professional and knowledgeable, even if the standard of English can be inconsistent. The information inside the site is non-existent, and only for this reason, consider booking your trip in advance with the Peru tours operator with a guaranteed standard of tour guide.

Most of the guided tours last about two and a half hours and will include a comprehensive range of Web site. You begin at the watchman Hut, which offers the best views of the site (those who are on all postcards) before you make your way towards the North and the highest, the edge of the citadel where some of the most important relics remain: the Temple of three Windows, the main Temple, the Intihuatana (rock sun) and the sacred Rock, who all line central plaza, grassy key.

Recent progress in terms of astro-archaeology has shown a great many new lessons in nature and layout of Machu Picchu, and your guide will point out some of the many adjustments to these important points with the stars and the solar system.

Of particular importance are the points on the surrounding mountains which complies with the citadel during important solar phases, including summer and winter solstice.

Moreover, along the opposite mountain ranges in the South, you will be able to see the last stages of the famous Inca Trail, as it leads down from the Sun Gate to Machu Picchu itself.

Once your tour is complete, you will have the opportunity to go the wrong way, the Inca Trail to the Sun Gate, which you will be rewarded with a different (and much less crowded) perspective on the site.

Alternatively, you can make the short hike of Intipata, or Inca bridge, approximately 45 minutes from the city of Machu Picchu. The bridge is constructed together facing a cliff and offers a fantastic view over the surrounding landscape. The bridge itself has unfortunately been closed to the public for security reasons.

If you have time, consider knitting for the rest of the day, and relax in a quieter corner of Machu Picchu. There is only one thing as impressive as the sun rise over the citadel: the sun-set.

While visiting Machu Picchu, be sure to remember the following considerations:

-Citadel is a protected place of significant historical importance. Therefore, tight restrictions on what can be included on the website, including plastic bottles, metal-tipped walking poles and large backpacks (these can be stored in the ticket office for $. 50)

-On-site services including toilets, food and drink is non-existent and outside the ticket office, prices are high. But you are allowed to bring your own food and drink in a small day bag.

-Peak visiting hours are from 10 am to around mid afternoon. Before and after these times the masses is much thinner and the queues for return bus trip is much shorter.

Machu Picchu-how was the Inca Civilization destroyed?

Virgin sacrifices took place at Machu Picchu

More than 50 burial sites have been excavated at the Machu Picchu site, and because many female bone was found originally it was originally speculated that virgin sacrifices may have taken place there. However, it was at the same time human victims may have been an integral part of the Inca religion and performed at major festivals more likely that young children were sacrificed and a number of children mummified remains have been found on the Inca trail to Machu Picchu. Further analysis of the bones found at the famous citadel, shows that many of the women had, in fact, children, and women still have also found on the basics. Virgin reference came possibly because young, female priests is sometimes referred to as "The virgins of the Sun" which was supposed to teach at Machu Picchu.

Machu Picchu population were massacred by the Spanish army

This theory can be ruled out entirely. Although historians still not quite sure why the Incas, Machu Picchu, knowing that the settlement is not visited by the Spanish. To begin with, there is no indication in Spanish settlement on the Inca trail. There are also some destruction of the area that may have been caused by military force and the area is very well conserved. It is believed that Spanish would have had an extreme disadvantage if they planned to massacre that the Inca trail trek top would have left them vulnerable population. All of these reasons, as well as the fact that none of the bodies that exist on the site appeared to have died as a result of violence completely excludes a massacre of the Spanish army.

Inter-Tribal warfare

Why or how the Incan people disappeared is something that is still controversial among historians. One of the theories is that another strain killed the Inca people. This is possible because we know that when the Emperor Huayana Capac defeated Caranques, he ordered the remaining members of their death. But we also know that the body found exclude the idea of death through violence.

So while we are often told tales of violence and massacre lead to termination of the Machu Picchu Inca ceremonial Centre that one, it is more likely that inhabitants may have died from an epidemic that syphilis or malaria, or simply abandoned the site on its creator's death.

Whatever the reason for abandonment was magnificent uninhabited Inca town since "lost" the outside world, with only a few indigenous Quechua people aware of its existence until the explorer Hiram Bingham stumbled on a jungle-clad Machu Picchu in 1911.

Machu Picchu tourism-the mysterious ' ancient Mountains "

Machu Picchu is regarded as one of the new seven wonders of the world. It is worthy of the name because the ancient and mysterious, yet extremely well preserved. It contains a lot of history that today is the subject of debate among archaeologists.

An estimated 1,000 people lived on the ground around a hundred years, before suddenly abandon the site around 1572. Why the left is unclear, even now, even if it seems to have been in any way related to the Spanish conquest of the region. However, we know that after the original Inca inhabitants left the Machu Picchu, the site remained hidden and unspoilt by non-natives have over three hundred years.

It was rediscovered by an archaeologist, Hiram Bingham III of Yale University, while he was looking for a unique city of Cuzco. A farmer son lead Bingham Inca trail until they reached the head of the mystical Machu Picchu. Archaeologist was subsequently sponsored by National Geographic and Yale University in his endeavor to find exploring the site.

The vast majority of Picchu tourism comes from the nearby city of Cusco. From there, you can catch a train up the mountain. Another method to reach the holy place is by hiking one of the famous Inca Trail, a remarkable network of hiking trails that wind among the mountains of snow covered, twist rivers and spectacular landscapes. Discovery of Machu Picchu by Hiram Bingham

Machu Picchu has become a very popular destination for travel lovers over recent years. Newly declared as one of the "new seven wonders of the world". Machu Picchu has now become more popular among travellers who want to travel to historic destinations.

We all know, Machu Picchu is known as the lost Inca town. But have you ever wondered why it's called lost? There are other towns built of Inca civilization and remained lost, until they were discovered in the last century. But no one calls them lost city. It seems only Machu Picchu is known as the lost city. There is therefore reason behind this name. If we get inside the Machu Picchu history, can we have the answer.

Big "hiram Bingham" wrote several books about Machu Picchu after his discovery. I hope you know about Hiram Bingham. He was a Yale historian who went to Peru many times to discover the Inca cities hidden in the deep forest and mountains. Bingham had a very colorful life. He was also a senator US Senate and Governor of Connecticut of the United States. You may be surprised to know that he also served in the u.s. Army and reached the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He was an aviator too and served as a teacher for one of the Aviation academy in the American fleet.

Binghams books were "Lost City" The ", since the publication of the book, the name became popular. He called the lost city, because he believed that this city was the last capital of the Inca "Vilcabamba old", which was lost to the Peruvian historian and could not be traced until 1960. The most important fact is that it was lost for Spaniards, that is why this city remained intact. All Incan city was partially of completely destroyed by the Spaniards. They didn't know about Machu Picchu, remained hidden for centuries until the Hiram Bingham communicated this city in the world.

The last Incan capital cities

When the Spanish invaders took hold of the Inca Empire, Peru Inca Emperor left his capital (which was the city of Cusco) and went to the deep forest, and continued their struggle from there. This place was known as Vitcos. Afterwards, they are moved to a more distant location Vilcabamba old. When the Spaniards took hold in the last Incan Emperor, they destroyed those cities. Nobody knew afterwards the existence or the location of these two cities. Historians and archaeologists were always searches for these two cities, but never find them, until they were discovered by Bingham.

How Bingham began

Hiram Bingham visited Santiago, Chile on behalf of the first Pan American Scientific Congress in 1908. On this tour he went to Peru. While he was coming back, asked one of the top officials of the Peruvian Government him to visit one of the Inca city at Choqquequirau, which could be lost Incan capital. He visited this place and found that there was not any of the last Incan capital cities. But he became interested in Incan ruins. He was a professor of history at Yale University and his topic was South American history, but he didn't know much about the ruins in advance. But after his visit to Choqquequirau, he became very interested in the discovery of the Incan ruins. After his return, he spent some time reading the old Spanish Chronicles and essays. He tried to find out the two last Incan capital. When Manco II left Cusco, he began to live in Vitcos and continued their fight against the Spaniard from Vitcos. But after his death they sought a new location, which should be difficult to reach and cross the river and mountains. Finally, they have chosen a new location from where they could continue the fight. This place was the very famous Vilcabamba la vieza, or "Vilcabamba old." Hiram Bingham read about Vitcos and Vilcabamba and just like the Peruvian historian, he was interested in finding these cities.

Discovery of Machu Picchu

Bingham began his first expedition to identify lost Inca cities. At the same time asking people about these cities, he came across a prospector who said that there were many ruins around the Urubamba valley and Huayna Picchu. Since the new Government the way passed very close to the Huayna Picchu, moved along the way. As they come closer to Huayna Picchu, struck the camp overnight at Mandor Pampa. That night a person named Melchor Arteaga came to their camp, and introduced himself as the owner of the area. He said that there were ruins across the River, on the top of Huayna Picchu mountain. He agreed to lead the party towards the ruins, in exchange of fifty cents per day. The next morning they followed him and is located on the Ridge called the ruins of Machu Picchu. Since this ruins had no name, under the name of the mountain, Hiram Bingham and others have begun to call the Machu Picchu. Bingham tried to identify this city and felt bad that it was the last Incan capital Vilcabamba la vieza.

Bingham found actually Vitcos and Vilcabamba also, currently known as Espiritu Pampa, but he did not realize that Espiritupampa is Vilcabamba. Bingham died thinking that Machu Picchu was Vilcabamba he had searched for.

Vilcabamba old

I have just discussed, Bingham found the Vilcabamba-old, who was then (and now) named as Espiritu Pampa. He failed to realize the importance of this discovery, because he preferred to think that Machu Picchu was Vilcabamba. In any event, when he died Espiritu Pampa Antonio Escalante and Gene Savoy was the very first people in the 1960s who realized that the actual Vilcabamba old. 1976 Prof. Anonymous Guillen and Polish explorers Tony Halik and Elibieta Dzikowska again are ruins. However, prior to the expedition of the museum of fine arts in Sevilla discovered Spain Guillen letter from Spaniards, like those describing the evolution of the invasion, and what they found in Vilcabamba. Comparing letters content and ruins as further evidence of the location of Vilcabamba.

Why the Incas, Machu Picchu

Long before the Spanish conquered Peru, it was abandoned by the Incas. That is why when the Spaniards conquered the Inca Empire, they couldn't find it. Spaniard author does not write anything about it, and it is simply because they did not know about existence of Machu Picchu. Since most of our current knowledge of the Inca civilization is from Spanish writings until Bingham discovered Machu Picchu, knew nothing of it.

Present days it is the most beautiful city in all of the Incan ruins, since it is not destroyed by the Spaniard. All ruins received certain treatment of Spaniard except this city because they did not know the existence of this city. It is quite understandable that the Incas had abandoned the city before the Spanish arrival. But there is still mystery whey they abandoned the city.

Machu Picchu-why this beautiful city was built?

Most of the source of information about Inca were the Spaniards, but they didn't know if it is so difficult to identify the precise reasons for the creation of this city. Archeologist worked hard with this fact in recent decades. But we still do not know the purpose of Machu Picchu is served to the Incan. Bingham thought it was old Vilcabamba-last Incan capital. But afterwards, it was shown that Machu Picchu is Vilcabamba.

What is Machu Picchu? There is much speculation on purpose it served. According to one theory, the Royal retreat. Another theory says that it was a religious site. We also believe that it was an ancient fortress. Due to its location was the city easy connection policy. Think of the steep trail and wind we moor our boats-it was really difficult to conquer the city. But still no one knows which theory is true. That is why it is so mysterious.

Oncilla

It is the smallest neotropical feline. Its size is very similar to a domestic cat of large size, with a long and well populated hair tail. The fur color varies from brown reddish grey, and spots tend to form lines or rosettes along the back.

It is an animal of solitary and nocturnal habits, spends the day hidden in vegetation or inside a hollow tree. It is very good climbing and very agile in trees. Their diet consists of rodents, small primates, birds, insects and reptiles. Its ecological importance lies precisely in this: to control populations of mammals and small bird which eats.

The famous Inca Trail to Machu Picchu

High hopkurad in the Andes at an altitude of 2350m and overshadowed by a 300-m peak, lies an old Mountain. This year, morning mists are regulated in this old Web site to keep complex during uncertain in mystery. Covered by woodland area and overgrowth of dense vegetation, remained hidden from the outside world until 1911, when archaeologists named Hiram Bingham, discovered "officially" on the site. "Old Hill was home to the old Inca Fortress better day called Machu Picchu.

Believed to have been built by the Incan ruler, Pachacuti Inka Yapancui, Sanctuary of Machu Picchu overlooks the deep valley of the Urubamba river and covers an area of 5 square km's it is part of the larger Machu Picchu natural, extends over an area of 32,600 hectares and is home to many archeological wonders and a myriad of magnificent flora and fauna.

While the ruins of Machu Picchu can be reached by train and a quick bus ride, is the best way to arrive at the ruins, along the famous Inca trail.

Built by the inkas in about 500AD, covers the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, only a small part of the old road network, which spans 23000km's and connected over three million miles of territory. The Trail was built block by block along the spine of the Andes, linking southern Ecuador to central Chile.

Among the lists of the world's famous Inca Trail hikes is without a doubt a top ranking, so popular in fact that a need to reserve a place on the trail at least three months in advance. Until 2005, had multiplied the number of trekkers on the control with the result that the paths were overcrowded and dance with litter and garbage. It got so bad that the Government is finally up and introduced a limit of 500 trekkers per day, guides and porters. The result is that the road now, but the overwhelming trekked the feeling of having increased to Piccadilly square on a Saturday morning.

On a site called Km82 Urubamba river, at about 170 tourists gather every day, going to the 53 km, famous Andean trail to the ruins of Machu Picchu. For many modern man path provides an opportunity to walk in the footsteps of a lost civilization, but what many don't realize, is that the way opened a window to exquisite plant life, a myriad of old Incan ruins and an insight into some of the old traditions.

Walks along the well worn paths, trail heads through small villages where the inhabitants grow corn to make their "Chicha" or maize beer. Here, weary porters carrying heavy loads, stop order to buy a Mug of pinkish brew their thirst is turned off. But first they Pour a little of the Earth as a dedication to the earth goddess, Pacha Mama.

It is the ancient tradition of dedicated worship of Quechuan people in this region, the implementation of a tradition which was anchored in the Inca civilization, which occupied the area lives.

Settlement at the side of the River Urubamba, by deep valleys and high passes, trail heads through some of the most picturesque scenery. hillsides covered in red splashes of bromeliads, tree covered in light purple, Fuchsia, endless expanses of grassland Puna and a myriad of Hummingbird darting establishing the sweet nectar of bright orange flowers Japan bushes along the paths.

Shortly after heading up the first of several passports if you look at the ruins of the city of Llactapata or on the Hillside. The rumor is that the walls of these ruins contain the secret was a stash of buried gold. Perhaps it is the way the sunlight plays with Golden grasslands as it shines through the clouds, or simply the lure of a mystery, but many are mesmerised by the Next peer into this old fortress.

And so it continues down the trail towards the most challenging part of the trail-"the dead woman's Pass" so called because from the top, the mountain is shown as a woman lying on her side. Breathe in the thin air as puffs to the top of the pass, once not help but marvel at the enormous effort into building this network of Inca civilization.

As the trail rises up workouts, falls in the valleys below and heads through tunnels carved by the solid rock, one soon finds himself in the cloud forest. Here among the ruins of Sayakmarka and Conchamarka, lichens and air plants still hanging on trees and rocks suck under the weight of mosses growing up to one meter deep. And in the mists that scrolls through these valleys, the Inca Trail protects one of the most amazing sights. more than 250 species of orchids Japan these paths, the minimum is, its "Pleurothalis acris measuring only 2 mm in length. Dragon orchids, orchid, Epidendrum bats face and Maxilaria to name but a few. Begonia grow much, create a kaleidoscope of color when approaching the ruins of Phuyupatamarka, aptly meaning ' Town above the clouds. "

Leave these ruins behind, down the trail head an infinite combination of stone steps and paths along a section newly discovered and are opened to the public in 1985. This trail had remained so well hidden in almost 600 years makes one wonder what other mysteries are hidden in the dense bush. But perhaps it hid a sacred ruin, is considered by some to be more beautiful than the sanctuary of Machu Picchu. ofWiay Wayna ruins. "Forever Young" so, are these ruins of the upper and lower living area ceremonial, are connected by a long flight. Next to these, and covered by a magnificent waterfall and back drop crashing woodland area, is a huge sweeping Amphitheatre of agricultural terraces, now home to the domestic Alpaca grazing in the morning light.

But the taste of tradition and history that is obtained during these three days on the trail is insignificant compared to the marvel that is waiting for the happy trekkers on the last day of trail.

People queue at the entry gate of trail at 05 h 00, waiting in anticipation for the gate to open my excitement of early morning balloon. The final 40 minute trek to the Inti Punku, the gate of the future and together with the call of birds wake up to the day, one arrives at the sanctuary of Machu Picchu.

Shrouded with a blanket of the morning mist, a look at this magnificent complex and watches as ascending gently the sun touches the Gallery throw them in the morning light, open the ruins to modern man eyes. Deep in the valley below, the Urubamba river, pounding through the Valley as ill-treatment heart of Mother goddess. And behind the ruins of this "old Hill Huayna Picchu is rising sharply, as a nose of Pachamama as she gazes at the sky.

Some say that the city was built for the nobility, while others say it was a Centre for astronomical observations. Built on a hjässan mound in the center of the complex, is the incredible Intihuatana, under "hitching post of the Sun", a block so carefully that the sun shines directly above the pillar cast no shadow at all at midday on 21st March and September 21st. Complex is home to a myriad of stone walls, rooms and ceremonial areas, farming terraces and dwelling areas. Intricately built many of the structures is blocking that no mortar was used to keep the massive together, some weighing as much as 50 tonnes.

From a city for 1200 persons, approximately 300,000 tourists embark on an annual pilgrimage to the ruins, of which about 12,000 arrives in the old Inca Trail. But just as the glaciers of Kilimanjaro characteristics by warming, increased levels of rain is threatening to destroy the very essence of the ruins of Machu Picchu.

When protected by Pachamama mysteriously abandoned and handed over to her forests, lies below its future now in hands of man. Declared a world heritage site in 1983, the sanctuary of Machu Picchu which is now a protected area and UNESCO is committed to ensuring that this ancient Sanctuary remains intact and from ruin and destruction.

Chilean Poet, Pueblo Neruda once wrote, "Machu Picchu is a journey to peace of mind, to eternal fusion cosmos ... a resting place for Butterflies at the heart of the great circle of life. One more miracle, "a miracle that we hope will survive in the history of mankind.

There are almost 8,000 metres high in the Andes mountains outside of Cusco, Peru and just above the town of Aguas Calientes, Peru. Scientists claim that Machu Picchu was built around the year 1450 AD. Style for building tips it is constructed of "late Imperial Inka" period, Pachacuti Inka Yupanqui (or Pachacutec). Chilcano, pisquero cocktail

Chilcano Pisco is one of my favorite beverages because it is refreshing and their preparation is very simple. The history of Pisco Chilcano relates to Italian emigrants who took it as tonic of a bad night just like traditional stock of Chilcano of fish, of there the name of chilcano.

Due to the great popularity that it has acquired this drink has begun to celebrate the Chilcano week of 11-17 January. It is an initiative of chefs and entrepreneurs seeking to disseminate this cocktail which is simple, also promotes the consumption of pisco supporting the internationalisation of our drink, which each year delights the palates of the world.

Machu Picchu-the road back to a glorious Era

A peep into history

The Incan civilization has an ethereal aura about it. There is no clear evidence on the origins of these old people who have left everything under the shroud of mystery. The legendary Incas of Peru have been held with mythical fascination of the Western world. Four hundred years ago the great wealth in gold and silver obsessed with these people was discovered, which systematically pillaged and plundered by the Spanish conquerors. The change, which they took home, changed the European economy. Incan Empire was short-lived, lasting a shade of gray in a hundred years. The origins of the Incan civilization can be traced back from 1438 the Inca Pachacuti, the ruler and his army began conquering the lands around the heart of Cuzco, the Inca until the Spaniards arrival in 1532. Most historians agree that there were 13 emperors of all and an emperor was widely referred to as "The Inka".

The Incas were hardy people and ruled the Andean Cordillera, which is considered to be second in height and sharpness to the Himalayas. These people lived at altitudes between 15,000 and 16,000 feet and their rituals performed at altitudes up to 22,057 feet on Llullaillaco in Chile, which is the highest Inca site known victims. They built roads and the victims at these altitudes, platforms on the volumes of their strength and courage. This ability in sandals clad Inca thrives at extremely high altitudes continues to perplex scientists even today.

The Incas were famous for their gold. The mined extensive deposits of gold and silver, but this finally brought disaster richness in the 16th century, when Spanish soldiers came looking for riches for themselves and their King.

Gold to the Incas, the Sun was in sweat and Silver "tears of the moon."

Money was in the form of work. Each subject of the Empire to pay taxes affected countless roads, crop irrigation terraces, canals, temples and forts. In return, they pay their workers in clothing, rulers and food. Silver and gold was plentiful, but only used for aesthetics.

It was this abundance of gold and silver, which finally leads to the downfall of Incan Empire. Spanish soldiers were awestruck by the Incas obsessed with wealth.

In 1532, Francisco Pizarro and his entourage mercenaries, planned its plot and cleverly tricked Incan Emperor, Atahualpa, such a peaceful get-together. They kidnapped the Emperor and held him for ransom. After receiving the money was Atahualpa, who was promised to be released, strangled to death by the Spaniards who then marched straight to Cuzco and its riches.

Unfortunately, what remains of the Inca heritage is limited, largely because of plunder and loot, and secondly, it was not until the twentieth century. Plunder plundered almost all Inca treasures and make as many structures dismantled, painstakingly built of Inca craftsmen. It is amazing that the last bastion of the Incan Empire still Spanish conquerors as well and, finally, was discovered by the explorer Hiram Bingham in 1911.

He had found Machu Picchu, the lost city and citadel atop mountainous jungle along the Urubamba river in Peru. Grand steps and terraces with fountains, accomodation and jungle-clad shrines flank pinnacle peaks around the site. It was a place of worship of the Sun God, the greatest privilege of seeing The.

Machu Picchu

This legendary lost city could build 500 years ago by the Incas and Peru's most visited tourist attraction. It is estimated that over 500 000 people annually visit this place. Macchu Picchu is now a coveted position as one of the seven new wonders of the world and is a UN heritage site. This wonderful city is perched atop a tropical Mountain Forest, which overlooks the River Urubamba. At approximately 7000 feet above sea level in the fog and clouds borrows covers a magical and fascinating charm, add the mystery surrounding this ancient marvel. Incan Empire, but short lived, have left indelible marks in sands times thanks largely to Machu Picchu. Astounding fact is that the structures that have proved themselves remarkably well in spite of the elements of nature. The city is made of large stone walls with plenty of doting the lush green temple terraces. A canyon overlook Machu Picu at Urubamba river and the Andes mountains and abundant greenery from the Amazon basin.

Certainly Machu Picchu finds a place in one of the best and impressive archaeological sites and is 120 km from the city of Cusco in Peru. Machu Picchu is also one of the best-kept secrets in Inca, because they do not provide written records and Spanish chronicles mention is not, therefore, the citadel is still a mystery.

Machu Picchu was constructed around 1450, at the height of the Inca Empire, and was abandoned less than 100 years later, that the Reich collapsed during the Spanish conquest. Hiram Bingham, the discoverer of the site is credited, and a few other hypothesized that citadel was originally the traditional birthplace of Inca people or the spiritual centre "virgins of the Sun."

Original entrance to the complex is on the southwest side of the citadel at the end of the Inca Trail, a short walk from "Intipunko" (Sun Gate), the ancient last control point to Machu Picchu. Current input port on the Southeast side leads to the agriculture. The complex can be divided into three different areas: agriculture, cities, and religious.

This huge work of architecture is an incredible feat for a primitive culture. Stone masonry and engineering graduates is close to the design perfection remains intact over the centuries. Go through this ancient citadel, you will find a labyrinth of temples and palaces are reserved for the Incan royalty. Two must Temple is Temple of the Sun-a circular tower with best stonework and Temple of the Moon with engraved textures on the stones.

Modern man with his hectic schedule and never ending thirst for grabbing goodies lives, may rarely time to unwind and relax, This fantastic destination takes visitors back safely to the old times, when we used to just wear to earn their daily bread and was still happy with the reward he got. Yes, some things happen in life, which leaves a deep impression in our minds and this trip to Machu Picchu is definitely one of its kind. Destinations around the world give visitors different experiences and Machu Picchu is quite different with its unique. With permanently engraved in the annals of history, continuing Machu Picchu that attract visitors for centuries to come.

Carhuamayo

Carhuamayo is a town in the province of Junín, located beside the lagoon Chinchaycocha in full blossom plateau. Carhuamayo villagers are very kind and hospitable, have an interest in disseminating the customs of its people. I found myself in the Congress of the Republic and I reported the feast of the patron saint of the town: Santa Rosa de Lima.

12 Apus and 4 Butlers who are responsible for keeping alive the carhuamainas customs are responsible for the realization of this festival. The preparation is done long in advance. When given the truca, begin to develops the costumes used during the party.

The celebration begins from the month of March, with a mass in honor to Santa Rosa de Lima and the respective procession through the streets of Carmahuayo. In July, the Santa is pilgrimage on the homes of the Apus and stewards with canticos, Rosary prayers and prayers of request. Celebrates the traditional feast of Aswanacuy, which is the preparation of the meat in the early days of the month of August and end of the month is celebrated the traditional Pinquichi.

The feast ends in the early days of the month of September with the Ayhuala to Watancama (I'm going until next year)

Machu Picchu travel

If you are exploring various options for Machu Picchu journeys, the odds are good that you are at least considering a trek on the Inca Trail. This is a popular way to arrive at the city's famous mountain of the Inca Empire. Before we go there, but let's explore some of the less time-consuming alternative.

The most popular way to reach the Mountain City, is by far by train. A four-hour journey from Cusco offers passengers ample time to enjoy the spectacular scenery of mountains and beautiful verdant hillside villages.

Another popular choice for Machu Picchu TRIPs are a short drive away, leaving the ancient town of Ollantaytambo. Other options include buses and, for a truly memorable visit, a helicopter flight from one of the above departure cities.

For the most intense travel experience, however, consider a trek along the famous Inca Trail. A walking tour along this trail allows you to more fully understand the Inca culture, witness the majestic beauty of the Andes and Inca ruins and contemplate the amazing perform to build Machu Picchu. These trips usually last four days and culminates with a visit to the Inca mountain city.

Roads along this trail is now quite popular, and thus is good infrastructure that works to support the trekkers on Machu Picchu tours. This offers many options for dining and accommodation along the way.

Plan your trip, you'll be joining one of the many agencies conduct tours on this route. Choosing a tour company can be a difficult decision. While I will not provide specific recommendations, can I give a few tips. First, verify that your wireless carrier is licensed. Many companies claim to make hikes, but not all of them are licensed by the Peruvian Government is doing.

Then you should be careful when hunting for the best price. If you see a tour operator offers lower prices than the approximately US $ 450 for a complete trek, tread carefully. Odds are good to offer a low price, the company to cut costs in some way, often break the law to do so. Usually, these companies are breaking the minimum wage laws or require employees to conduct their hikes too much load. Consider carefully whether you want to do business with a company that conducts itself in this way.

And keep in mind when planning your Machu Picchu journeys, it becomes a unique experience-do you want to cut corners? Go "all in" experience it fully, and never forget this wonderful historic site.

Cattleya Rex

The Cattleya genus is named after William Cattley who was one of the first fans to have a private collection of orchids. Cattleya Rex is known as the Queen of orchids due to its great beauty. The petals are creamy white and area domestic colored with yellow and red.

Machu Picchu facts

Planning on having an Inca Trail Tour? Then prepare a challenging and fulfilling adventure! Inca trails differ from other tracks, because they are filled with wonderful natural landscapes. Your hike will be a memorable as you explore a rain forest, cloud forest and other natural areas. Andes mountains will provide you with a spectacular view! You will enjoy the historical city of Machu Picchu. Here are some helpful facts. Go to the mountain can be done by walking for four days or bus/train. While riding the bus, make sure to catch the beauty of the River. Most visitors choose to go to the site, so that they can enjoy the natural surroundings. Sometimes the weather cold when climbing through the mountain, so most backpackers will implement a tent and warm clothes. If your knees can't take a four-day hike, it would be best choice train.

The old Holy City The, or the so-called "Lost City of The" use about 33 hectares on a flat plateau. It is situated at an altitude of 2700 m above sea level in the valley below, nestled in the two peaks of Huayna Picchu, Machu Picchu. Excavations in Machu Picchu revealed the world famous Gateway of the Sun, now referred to as "the Intiuatana and the Observatory". You will see remnants of Palace, Temple, more than two hundred other buildings, defensive walls, stairs, gutters and swimming pools that were either carved in the rock or built from carefully mounted large blocks. Thousands of terraces down to the rocks for the cultivation of agricultural crops. At the foot of Huayna Picchi is palaces of the Moon, as well as many buried objects from pre-Incan.

Location is one of the most interesting, but unknown attractions in the world.

Sanctuary Lodge at Machu Picchu-worth the expense?

Trek to Machu Picchu, the most visited world heritage and the highest destination in Peru, is an experience that most international travelers have at the top of their bucket lists. Located high in the Andes on a mountain ridge above the Urubamba river, Machu Picchu is reached only by foot via the Inca Trail, or by bus up a long series of switchbacks on gravel/dirt road from the town of Aguas Calientes, Peru liquidation. Due to the distance and the bus and train schedules, his time at Machu Picchu fairly short if not a remains the Sanctuary Lodge. Lodge, only overnight at Machu Picchu, its front door just steps away from Machu Picchu Entrance portal. Before you say "it's a rather simple, we will keep you" be aware that a room in the lodge will put a ding in your Peru travel budget. A one-night stay at The Sanctuary Lodge is run from a low of 795 USD all the way up to 1320 USD for a suite. The big question-"is it worth it?"
Location, location, location.
The idea of coming up with this type of coin to stay in a country where the average income is $ 7600 per year (estimation 2007) little mind boggles. Cost seems extreme to Peru. That decision is not based on the normal issues of comfort, softness beds and food quality. In this case, it is a decisive factor. Sanctuary Lodge has it, and no one else does. Staying at the lodge buys you access to Machu Picchu before sunrise, before the masses while away from the buses (although some buses make climbing too early 6: 00 AM opening of the site) and delightedly, after the crowds have left to catch the last bus which will connect to is the afternoon depart the train. Late afternoon are the only Machu Picchu Lodge, its occupants and visitors day walkers from campgrounds. It is the most solitude can be found on the Web site, hosting an annual rate of about 400,000 visitors per year.
Food and drink.
Coating on the Sanctuary Lodge also purchase access to a nice lunch in the restaurant/bar Tampu, where one can find lunch without the crowds and lines after a long and early morning look at Machu Picchu morning mists and rising sun. Day trippers up from Aguas Calientes, Peru has to stand in long, snaking lines to eat at the Lodge Tinkuy restaurant (a buffet lunch is served) or in a small patio area just outside the supplier's lodge. This wait is taking valuable time from already short day-but there is no food inside the Machu Picchu itself and is not intended for food and beverage on site except water in canteens.
Amenities.
Pay for a site that increases your visitors inside the Machu Picchu is the key. The truth is to maximize your visit here you probably would sleep on a bed under the stars. Fortunately, Sanctuary Lodge is not a stripped-down hotel-it is part of the Orient-Express hotel and train Empire. The staff are all about exemplary service to the Lodge guests, beds are the most comfortable we have ever slept in anywhere, and food is the 5-star. Guests can also enjoy the outside terrace and a walk through the orchid garden Lodge, built along a meandering stream and waterfall. Massage is available (though more expensive than anywhere else in Peru that I could find.)
The final decision.
In the end, we decided to book (well in advance which Lodge has only 29 rooms and 2 suites, 12 offering mountain views and the corresponding increase in the price). Possibility to expand our time exploring one of the "new" seven wonders of the world's one and a half days, compared with only hours made the hit our wallet worth it for us.
Tip: try not to pay for a "view" room because it doesn't allow a view inside the actual site or are you in the room so much anyway.
Peru is a delightful and wonderful country, and Machu Picchu are arguably, its crown jewel. My suggestion-spend the money for Sanctuary Lodge and maximize your time. For most of us are visiting Machu Picchu an unique gig.
