Sechin

Sechin archaeological complex is located on the northern slopes of Mount Laguna, known by locals as cerro Sechin. It was discovered by Julio C. Tello in 1937, calling it Cerro Sechin Temple intervened after other researchers such as: Alberto Bueno, Arturo Jiménez Borja and Lorenzo Samaniego, who qualify to Sechin as a political religious architectural complex. The complex consists of 6 buildings of mud and stone, two buildings on both sides of the main building and a lithic Gallery.

The art of sculpture in clay and stone gets a harmony with the architecture of the monument of mud in bas-relief, anthropomorphic, Zoomorphic representations and ictiomorfas, all of them run in plaster frescoes with sharp instruments.

Lithic sculpture is represented by more than 300 sizes with various iconographic representations showing ecstasy, euphoria, headache man, possibly an allegory to an alleged struggle and sacrifice between two peoples in conflict revealing winners pride t the fatal destiny of the vanquished.

The monument is not very large in size, if it is for the message that contains in its stones and architecture together to form one of the most important buildings of the continent.
